Hello everyone, sorry that this message is a bit delayed this year. Our 28th annual sale (I can’t believe I have made it this far!) is almost over for another year. If there are any last-minute items you need, now’s the time to get them at a fantastic discount! The sale ends soon, on 20th December at 11:59 pm; more details here.
This year my health improved tremendously, so I became confident and boldly scheduled 4 (yes four!) Aromatherapy workshops, something that hasn’t been seen for many a year! Back in the day, I used to run an aromatherapy class almost weekly. It was always well received, and I was blessed with so much support—and still am! So many of you have continued following me through these 28 years, believing in, and championing Veronica Aromatherapy.
At the classes this year, I was reunited with many of my long-time followers and was so moved by their continued support, even after all these years; your faith has touched me so deeply. It was especially heartwarming to see you find your old classmates once again. My heart was so full!
I heard one attendee lament that she had recently lost my old newsletters (the physical ones I used to mail out in the early years), and another jokingly teased that she could sell her a copy! I was so surprised that my newsletters from many years ago were treasured keepsakes and still being referred to. Holding my tears back was quite the effort in order to keep my class going! I thought to myself that I need to make my newsletter more worthy of being kept and a source of good information, but where do I start?
So I’ve been thinking that maybe nothing is really better (and useful) than the stories of my work and discoveries with my oils. So, to my most loyal and lovely followers, shall we start there?
A quick note that the following are real incidents. And of course, identities have been removed for the sake of privacy. I hope these stories will become useful to you one day, if you’ve ever needed inspiration for your blends, or information on how to use your essential oils.
I am also attaching a PDF copy of this newsletter, so you can download and keep it if you like the stories. Thank you for being my readers!
One of the most popular requests I typically get is a solution for toddlers or babies with a blocked or stuffy nose. My suggestion to a parent of a 4-year-old is to use Bay Laurel Organic. The family came back to me in one week to ask for more; a sure sign that it was a successful application.
The Bay Laurel I have is certified organically grown, and flown in from France. It has an almost citrusy, green smell, which is pleasant and not sharp for young noses. It has a wonderful ability to clear and decongest the nose by stimulating the lymph glands. As lymph clears, so does the nose. Bay Laurel is also a good antibacterial; as an example, I treated a young 14-year-old for a mycoplasma infection of the lungs, which quite successfully resolved within two weeks.
How to Use
For Babies (below 12 months): 1 drop on the collar of their shirt (please place the shirt on the table to drop it on the collar and not sprinkle on them while they wear the shirt—I know it is obvious, but shortcuts can cause accidents, and we won’t want that)! I recommend applying this twice a day on the shirt, and once at night on the pillow case (or a towel over the pillow case).
For Children below 5 years: 1 drop on a small 4 inch square piece of tissue, fold into quarters and roll into a tube. Insert it like a personal inhaler, partially into the nostril, and inhale through it. My client made it into a craft project with her child, and she got the child to make her own inhaler. With her supervision, she taught her daughter how to roll it up. It’s such a good idea to let children make their own inhaler; future skills established! Inhale through the tube, alternating between nostrils for 5 minutes, twice to three times a day, and especially before night rest. As above, you can also use a drop on the pillow at night to continue the effect.
For Children above 5 years: 1 drop of Bay Laurel Organic and 1 Drop of Eucalyptus Radiata Organic (Eucalyptus is a broad-spectrum bacteria and virus killer) on the 4-inch square piece of tissue, fold in quarters, and roll into a tube. Again, insert it like a personal inhaler, partially into the nostril, and inhale through it, alternating between nostrils for a total of 5 minutes until the oils evaporate. Apply 4x a day, especially before bed rest. You can use the same combination of oils, 3 drops each, in a diffuser or burner in the bedroom overnight to keep the anti-congestion effect going. Also good for upper-respiratory infections.
Baby to Child Anti-Allergy Synergy
10ml for $20.90 • 30ml for $50.90 • 100ml for $100.90
I learned the original formula from Kurt Schnaubelt, PhD, my guru of essential oil chemistry! I have modified it to be child-safe and age-appropriate. Pairs well with the Bay Laurel inhalers to act as an antihistamine.
How to Use
Very popular amongst moms who use it as a chest, back, and under the chin (for the lymph nodes) rub for babies and kids. To be used twice daily: once in the morning and once in the evening. I do require the child’s age so that I can dilute it appropriately, or prescribe a safe alternative. Please order it under Custom Blends, and specify one of these options:
1. Baby Anti-Allergy — for infants to 12 months
2. Child Anti-Allergy — up to 3 years old
3. Toddlers’ Anti-Allergy — 3 years and up.
It reduces the sensitivity of their airways and also helps to calm allergy rhinitis.
Organic Thyme Thuyanol
5ml for $36.90
For babies experiencing infection of the chest or upper respiratory tract. When you seem to have a recurring infection in the chest, it’s time to up your essential oil power! Add 1 drop of Thyme Thuyanol to the inhaler stick. It is soft, baby-safe, and not too sharp for the nervous system or nasal passages. It is a powerful anti-infection remedy with a rather pleasant, floral-citral note to it. Pairs well with Bay Laurel.
If your baby or young child seems to have a poor response to medication and falls sick every few weeks, use this to assist and guard their immune system. Before they leave for nursery school, apply it to their shirt collar or clothes (before wearing).
Aromatherapy for Depression
Psycho-aromatherapy is never an easy subject to handle. There are so many variables I need to account for, and patient needs can range widely, from counselling to medication.
I had a lovely patient who unfortunately had clinical depression, and was hospitalized at the public health center a few times a year. As a single mom it was not an easy life for her; raising a child by herself, she felt so alone and helpless. Grappling with trying to earn money to make ends meet, she could not get a permanent home and had been renting, moving from place to place. The constant disruption had been stressful for the son as well. She sought my help, and for 3 years, I paired my therapy with hers, and gave her a take-home frankincense homework. The smell added a relation to her mental health, giving her a sense of strength and peace, calming her whenever she smelled it. She began to use it at night on her pulse points and temples before sleep. I told her how I had used Frankincense every night for my younger son to assist his sleep and help soothe his night terrors. It stopped the issue, and still calms him even now as an adult, giving him a good night’s rest. Whenever he is faced with stress, I make sure to give him Frankincense for his anxiety and to improve his sleep.
After 3 years of therapy, using Frankincense regularly, and much talking on my end about deciding to get control back in her life, she broke through. She got herself a stable job, and successfully balloted for a new HDB. This also gave her son stability, and he too went from a troubled, rebellious teen to a mature young adult. She told me years later that she now knows how to deal with her spells of depression. Now that her life is more stable (with a constant income and a roof over their heads) she has also avoided hospitalization. I couldn’t be more proud of her transformation and how far she’s travelled.
My patients remain my greatest teacher; every time there is a success, or a difficult case, I learn so much from the stories.
Aromatherapy for Pneumonia
In 2022, back when my dad (who was 84 at the time) had a bout of pneumonia from food aspiration, I tried to visit him at the public hospital daily (even though there were still some COVID restrictions in place at the time). I used these visits to also observe him (and of course, secretly oil him)! After almost 4 days of antibiotic treatment, he was better and got over the pneumonia (he never got any COVID, thank God). My ever-so strict mom nursed him single-handedly during his 22 years of Parkinson’s -salute- At the same time, he was also a very good patient, who rarely complained (such grace I may never achieve!). Okay, back to the story! As his health improved, they tried to start him on a milk-based feed. I remember noticing, on the very day they started this feed, that his secretions were very severe—in fact, he was literally gargling. Alarmed, I told the nurse at the station to do suction for him. They said he was just fed an hour ago, and as they suction him 4 times a day, he could wait for the next session. It was 4.30 pm at the time, and so visiting hours were over, and I had to leave. I left word for the ward doctor to contact me, as I thought this couldn’t be right.
Unfortunately, in the early hours of the next morning, his BP and heart rate dropped. I got a call saying that my dad was dying, and they proposed to send him to the End-of-Life room. Of course, I rushed down, phoned my sister, and informed the family. My sister reminded me that in America, the doctors would give instructions to avoid all dairy for any patient suffering from any type of respiratory infection. It clicked for me. Of course!
Nevertheless, with the end-of-life room, we could now nurse him on our own. We took turns amongst my siblings and me to hold the fort. They would only offer suction and pain management, with glucose to hydrate him. We respected his wish for no resuscitation, and we kept vigil by him, never leaving his side. I sprinkled Frankincense on him to protect him daily, and sprayed Frankincense and Pine Hydrosol in the room to repel any unwanted and unseen guests, plus, of course, the odour in the room. I did not want my dad to be harassed at this pivotal moment of his life transition.
Two days later, he woke up with wide eyes, and smiled at us through his tubes. I was so relieved… My mom joked with him that he just wanted to come home to bother her more! He cracked into a grin, and took her hand to his lips to give her a soft kiss. I started crying myself silly, of course. To know such love exists between my parents warms my heart so much. In the following days, we stood guard to stop any dairy feed from being introduced, and finally, after 1 week, we got him on plant-based feed from Ensure. It eased the secretions, and he was coping so well at discharge that I was able to return the suction machine I’d borrowed for him. Instead, I gave him my own Drainage oil, it helped dissolve the phlegm, reducing his coughing significantly—at least he didn’t sound like a frog! I would apply it to his chest, sternum, and back. It kept the phlegm watery and easy for him to process, and because he was on the Ensure plant-based milk feed, his saliva was not sticky.
I tell this story so that you can hopefully save your dear elderly loved ones from such a silly way of dying. Overproduction of phlegm due to a dairy feed seems such a senseless way to go. My dad came home for a whole extra year, from November 2022 until he departed on 20th November 2023. He had not needed suction all the way through until he had a second bout of pneumonia. He decided this time to go back to God. As he waited for me to end my work that day, with fever, flushed complexion, laboured breath, he looked me in the eye, as we held his hands. I suggested maybe he needs suction, and I sensed he might have heard me and said to himself, “Oh no, not again”. My mom said to call for the ambulance, which my sons assisted with. He decided, while I did the second round of CPR on him, that it was time to go. He gave two long sighs and left peacefully…
Veronica Aromatherapy Oil News
I am quite proud of my oil collection this year, as I found direct farm sources from around the world and established trade ties. This year I managed to source a new organic essential oil supply line. They are also distillers, which is good news. However, they are looking to sell their farm, which, of course, is bad news to us… :(
It is becoming increasingly hard with global warming. None of our descendants are attracted to the art of aromatherapy farming, and sadly we’re losing the skills as the digital age takes over… Let us try to enjoy the moment while it lasts…
10ml for $32.90
I found a new Organic Lime Oil source, and last year’s sale saw this oil sell out really fast. I found this source to have a better, more potent smelling lime than my previous one. Lime has similar properties to Lemon oil and is a good fat burner. However, please note that it is photo-toxic, meaning don’t expose your skin to direct sun after applying this. I also recommend diluting it with a carrier oil before applying.

One of my patients who has inflammation and lipoedema (a swollen inflammative fat disorder) testifies that she feels a lot of benefits from applying my Drainage Oil on the areas of inflammation, and then directly overlapping it with Grapefruit White Organic. She found this method by experimenting on her own, and it has worked well for her. This combination has been very effective in soothing her inflamed calf. I believe she was super-looking forward to this sale period LOL!

I have one patient in her late 30s who has uterine cancer in her history, and has been struggling emotionally with menopause. She feels stressed about seeking help from a psychiatrist and is very hesitant to go on medication. Recently, she sought my opinion, hoping for some oil support that could help her stay away from medication and still feel better. We tested some oils from woods to florals, and with expert advice from a fertility gynaecologist that uterine cancer has no relationship with female hormones, I boldly offered her Clary Sage. She lit up immediately when she smelled it, and then kept reaching out to smell it repeatedly. That was the expression I was looking for; that’s the oil for psycho-aromatherapy that works for the patient. You can’t fake that reaction—it is so organic and reflexive. When she inhaled other oils that she said she liked, she seemed neutral, but with this oil, she just brightened up like the sun shining through the clouds!
Once again, you all make me love aromatherapy more than ever because of your feedback. The lessons I learn from you all serve as the very inspiration for me to continue to learn and grow with aromatherapy, so that I can, in turn, share that knowledge back with you again. Isn’t it a great cycle?!
I managed to keep many of the prices the same as last year. I hope you have a good time with this year’s new collection and were able to pick up some bargains in the sale!
Forecasting into 2026, I have once again started another course. This October, I began studying for a diploma in Aromatherapy and Herbalism with Acetea Institute. It is really exciting to go in-depth with my oils, learn about even more plants, and to view it all from the perspective of a herbalist or an alternative TCM viewpoint. The journey so far has been very rewarding, and I am enjoying the growth in my knowledge. It’s changed my outlook and understanding a substantial amount, and because of that, I know that I cannot now teach in quite the same way. And so I will take a pause for aromatherapy classes in 2026. Please allow me to take this year to finish my diploma (which is very full on, I assure you!😮💨), and come back stronger and better in 2027. Then I feel that I can teach with a new perspective and an expanded mastery. I will be rewriting a lot of my slides and study guides for sure!
Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas, and a Most Wonderful year ahead. Peace, Health, and Joy to all!
With all my love, Veronica
