It’s our 26th Annual 40% Sale—On Now!

Was it me or has the year passed exceptionally fast? Once again we have arrived at the announcement of our most popular event of the year, the Annual 40% Off Aromatherapy Sale!

Believe it or not, this is our 26th year. I started it as a way to say thank you to all my loyal aromatherapy fans, students and clients. You gave me reason to keep up this tradition, as every year I enjoy seeing the happy shopping and fabulous results. The feedback about my oils gives me great inspiration and energy to power on!

Customised or Made-to-Order Blends Unavailable For a While

Firstly, I do apologise that this year I am unable to provide any specially-requested customised blends. After evading COVID for 3 years, it finally caught up with me in May this year. Unfortunately I had a really bad bout, and since then my sense of smell and taste has been impacted. While I initially could not smell anything at all (yikes!), I can now smell some things better, but it has affected my judgement of the aroma of the oils, the balance of which can be quite subtle. Therefore, I will be unable to do any custom blends by consultation request for the moment, until I feel that my full sensory spectrum has returned. I am sorry to disappoint those of you who make regular requests. I can make oils according to my established and recorded formulas, but just can’t invent anything new right now.

Here are a few details about some of the oils featured in our current sale:

Frankincense Somalia CO₂ (Wildcrafted)

5ml for $54.90

Yes, you saw that right, it is super high this year! I was shocked when I scouted for this oil; and when I tried to check the price at other authentic sources, it was all about the same. I almost fainted from the big jump!

I contemplated for a week or so about whether to include this oil on my price list, but came to the conclusion that I should let it be your choice. If this wildcrafted, extra pure and carbon-dioxide-extracted Frankincense is a bit too much, we still have an additional option: Frankincense Somalia H₂O, which is steam distilled and organically crafted, for quite a bit less.

Frankincense Somalia H₂O Organic

5ml for $30.90

This version of the same species from Somalia is also a very good find. I buy it direct from a farm that only produces Frankincense and Myrrh. This oil source is from a humanitarian social enterprise; the farm provides jobs for people in the local community, and uses the money earned to develop the infrastructure in their villages, and provide water taps and wells for them. I love that about this company, and continue to support their efforts by buying their oils every year—this year is no exception. They’ve kindly shared some pictures (below) with me this year!

I also carry their Myrrh H₂O and Frankincense Hydrosol. Please support them for a really good cause.

Back in Stock: Aloe Vera Gel (Paraben Free)

120ml for $24.90

We were unable to source a good Aloe Vera Gel suitable for essential oil blends last year, and so I had pulled it out of the price list. However, this year I found it again, and so I’m very happy to be able to offer it once again—and at 2021’s price! I am so happy to share this amazing find with you, and I hope you like it too!

I love using Aloe Vera Gel in formulas that need to stay on the skin for a while, or used to cool the surface of the skin. Since it is watery in nature, it’s kind to the skin of children and babies. Since our skin is by nature lipophilic, it also ”forces” oils to migrate to the skin more quickly for absorption.

Use this with Lavender to make a simple blend for baby bumps, bruises, and insect bites. It’s even better cooled in the fridge, and increases the natural soothing ability of the Aloes.

Back in Stock: Calendula Infused Organic

100ml for $30.90

This was another oil we’d been unable to find last year, but we now once again have in stock.

This is a special type of base or carrier oil that has herbs or plants already blended into it—in this case, Helianthus annus (sunflower) oil is infused with Calendula officinalis. It’s a wonderful and medicinal base to add to the power of your oil synergies.

I normally use Calendula (Marigold flowers) for anything to do with anti-inflammatory healing and soothing. I like using it alone, without any essential oils added, as a treatment for babies with problem skin, or for soothing and treating scars that haven’t healed well in adults. It is nourishing and regenerative.

I remember treating a burns patient with calendula combined with everlasting on a wound that looked pink, inflamed and shiny. It hadn’t healed completely and she was developing a scar contracture (a tightening of the skin after a second or third degree burn). During treatment, she was very surprised at how comforting it felt on her wound and the tight skin around it, and the very next week she came back for more. She showed me how fast the skin had changed; the wound had now “relaxed”, the colour faded to a baby pink shade, and the scar was more “shallow” (not raised as it was before).

For general use, I recommend this for those with eczema; to soothe dry, scaly, dusty-looking skin; for babies with minor dry skin rashes; and also (as it’s most well-known for) for pregnancy stretch marks!

Back in Stock: Arnica Infused Organic

100ml for $36.90

Another infused base oil that’s back in stock is Arnica Infused Organic. It was exceptionally expensive last year and I had left it out of the price list, only choosing to use it as a blend base myself. However, I am delighted to find a source this year with reasonable pricing and ACO Certification (for organic production).

Like Calendula, Arnica is also a precious trauma rescue oil, traditionally used for clearing bruises. I enjoy using this for all manner of minor scrapes and accidents, for sports injuries or sprains. It has the additional healing ability of halting bleeding conditions and dissolving blood clots. Though a similar profile, it’s different to Calendula, which is a wound regenerator.

When I create a post-operative blend, I tend to use both Arnica and Calendula as a combined base. It helps speed up the healing process for any patient who is a slow or poor healer, like those with inflammatory issues or auto-immune symptoms. A very precious find that I hope you’ll enjoy!

A New Oil: Wintergreen Nepal Organic

10ml for $32.90

Due to quite a few requests, I started looking for a good source for Wintergreen. I love the sharp, spicy smell; it reminds me of medicinal TCM rubs! Traditionally used for deep muscle aches, Dr Schnaubelt calls it an "aspirin for muscles from nature". It does have far deeper reach than you expect, especially when combined with Roman Chamomile and Peppermint. And if you want it to be warming, just add a touch of Ginger to this mix.

Getting your hands on proper Wintergreen is not the easiest. It's often made in a lab, and to be able to find an authentic and organic source made my day! I hope to carry this oil for a few more years before things change again.

Finding good quality, reliable sources is getting increasingly difficult. But as you can see from my prices, I do lower them if I can find a good source that gives me enough space to do precisely that. I've been able to lower the prices of several oils (can you tell which ones they are? 😉) and held onto the old prices of many others. I feel that good aromatherapy oils should be within the reach and means of the everyday lifestyle, because they are nature’s healers in the very troubled and challenging times that's affecting everyone’s health lately. Aromatherapy is my love and my joy. I love that it has blessed you with its health benefits, and yet gives you a mental and emotional wellness that other forms of medication cannot achieve.

I hope you enjoy this year’s collection—happy shopping!

With love and blessings,

— Veron
